The last couple of weeks for the 2016 part of the school year are here. The students have been working diligently to learn the 4th grade standards across all subjects.
Last week several students had a hard time focusing and remembering that though the end is near there are things that need to be completed before break. Please help me by reminding your child that though we will continue to have fun it is important that we stay focused so that we can continue to do our best.
Reminder, all classwork is due the day that it is assigned unless otherwise noted in the planner or on the paper. Work not finished in a school days time is then homework. I don’t accept late work, so students must be diligent in completing their work, especially as we are preparing to close out 2nd quarter and 1st semester.
I am so proud of all the hard work that the class as a whole has been doing during 2nd quarter. I observed students recognizing the hiccups from 1st quarter and working to correct them this quarter. We continue to be reflective learners to help ourselves reach the goals we set and we readjust our mindset to help us to better succeed.
As a reward for their dedication and hard work, this Friday (Dec. 2nd) we will be decorating our desks for the holidays. Your child is welcome to bring in decorations throughout the week. I don’t expect parents to buy anything. Please don’t send anything breakable or of value. (Disclaimer: If going forward the decorations are a distraction then I will ask them to remove them.) Please email me if you have any questions.
